Conscious Discipline is a social and emotional intelligence, trauma informed, behavior management system that empowers both adults and children. It is based on the latest brain research, child development information and developmentally appropriate practices. It includes not only sound theory, but also effective strategies that work! Conscious Discipline leads adults through a process that promotes permanent, positive behavior changes in both adults and children. The change is from a traditional compliance model of discipline to a relationship-based community model.
Conscious Discipline empowers adults with the Seven Powers for Self Control. These powers allow adults to draw from within themselves to become proactive instead of reactive in conflict moments. From the Seven Powers of Self Control emerge the Seven Basic Skills of Discipline. During Life Skills classes, students learn each skill as they work toward following our PBIS rules.
